At the recent gaming event held in the UK Bethesda’s Tom Willits was aked by a Xbox360A whether there would be a sequel to Doom3 and the reply from him was anything but vague as he gave a clear and concise statement about the rumoured development of the game. Here’s what he had to say:
“Hopefully, it’ll be even more awesome than Rage. For us as a company, every game needs to be better than the last. I truly believe that Rage is the best game we’ve ever made. When we made Doom 3 I said, Doom 3 is the best game we’ve ever made and Rage will be better. Hopefully. Doom 4 needs to be even more awesome than Rage.”
So there it is in a nutshell, the game is in development and the team behind it are looking to surpass the gaming greatness of the last in the series offering. But when will we hear anything about it with a definite date? We hear you all cry. Well, that is the $64,000 question really isn’t it? It is unlikely that there will be any announcements made with regard to Doom3 at this year’s E3 but maybe there will be more hope for a press release around the Quakecon time if we are lucky. We’ll let you know.
