Dare you gaze into the murky depths that await you in Deep Silver’s first trailer for Risen 2:Dark Waters?

Today, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes unveil the first video for Risen 2: Dark Waters, the sequel to the bestselling role-playing game Risen™. The CGI trailer conveys the game’s gloomy atmosphere, reveals the first moving images of the characters in the new setting and hints at some new features.

The hero is sent off by the Inquisition to find a remedy for the monstrous sea creatures damaging shipping traffic and with it the island’s supplies. The pirates seem to know how to counter these beings … but they are being largely uncooperative.

New gameplay elements expand the variety of Risen 2. One such element is the ability for players to make use of firearms. In typical pirate fashion, adventurers can now also employ so-called dirty tricks, allowing them to distract or confuse enemies while attacking in battle. In addition, magic which is in keeping with the setting, plays a vital role for the first time.

Piranha Bytes combines Risen’s authentic role-playing gameplay with a fresh setting, new content, further-developed technology and multiple, thematically varied islands. With its highly interactive game world and dynamic day/night rotation – influencing countless aspects of the world – Risen 2 allows players to plunge into one of the most intense role-playing worlds ever created.

Deep Silver will release Risen 2: Dark Waters for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Windows PC and PlayStation®3.
