Japanese quake may delay NGP

Tretton makes it clear that Sony’s new handheld will face production delays as a result of the Japanese earthquake.

In a statement from Sony CEA Jack Tretton today it has been announced that due to the devastation brought about by the massive quake suffered by Japan that it is likely only one region would be receiving the new NGP later this year due to key factories that are critical in the manufacture of the handheld devices being compromised as a direct result of the huge earthquake that rocked the country last month.  With Nintendo already posting record figures in the first week of the launch of their own latest handheld, the 3Ds, it is likely that added pressure will now be on the NGP.

More news regarding the NGP as well as the Nintendo 3Ds as it breaks.
