With the Hollywood big budget blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides due to take the world of the silver screen by storm later this summer, it looks as if those brick-built brigantine’s and plastic pirate lord’s of Legoland are all set to batten down the hatches as they set sail for the Number One spot of the gaming charts with the release of the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Videogame being launched on landlubber’s and seafaring folk alike this May 13th, 2011.
Judging from the accompanying screenshot’s that have been released with this tantalising tit-bit of information, Pirates of the Caribbean will cover the entire four parts of the mythical series of movies up to, and including, sets and locations, as well as characters from the forthcoming Hollywood hit.
Taking full advantage of the unique stylings of the Lego-based tomfoolery, the upcoming title has all the hallmarks of its best-selling predecessors as it incorporates that tongue-in-cheek humour that the franchise is famous for. With well over 70 characters, as well as some truly epic environments from the pictured Dutchman Key and Pelegosto to the renowned pirate haunts of Tortuga and Port Royal, and players are in for an incredible feast of gaming delights that will see them coming back for more time and again.
