STONETRIP AND IDEAWORKS LABS JOIN FORCES TO MAKE MULTI-PLATFORM RAPID GAME DEVELOPMENT EASIER        
 
Stonetrip, the leading 3D engine studio for games and 3D applications, and ideaworks Labs, developers of the multi-platform Airplay SDK, have announced a partnership that makes available to developers unprecedented high-end rapid game development and native multi-platform deployment capabilities. 

Integration between Stonetrip’s 3D game engine ShiVa3D and Airplay SDK means that ShiVa3D developers can now port their games to the full list of Airplay supported platforms, including iOS, Android, bada, Maemo, Symbian and Windows Mobile. As Airplay adds support for new platforms, ShiVa developers will be able to exploit these with minimal extra effort. At the same time, Airplay developers can now make full use of ShiVa3D’s engine and editor.

While the latest version of ShiVa3D, rel 1.9, already has native support for iOS, Android and Palm webOS, the integration with Airplay SDK will give ShiVa3D developers support for additional mobile platforms.

“It makes perfect sense for us to team up with Ideaworks Labs and to make ShiVa3D more accessible to developers using Airplay SDK,” says Philip Belhassen, CEO of Stonetrip. “And it gives us new platforms as well, strengthening our position as the best integrated multi-platform engine on the market.”

“Today’s announcement is further evidence that a growing number of respected third party tools are integrating with Airplay SDK to increase their reach and provide the best possible environment for multi-platform deployment and development,” says Alex Caccia, president of Ideaworks. “Airplay SDK’s open platform approach allows developers to choose from the huge variety of third party C/C++ libraries out there, and already supports more smartphone and tablet platforms than any other solution, making it a logical choice for serious developers.”

The integration has already been used to bring Crusade of Destiny to both Symbian and bada and the game is currently available for download in the Samsung Apps store for consumers.  Developer Jopacus J. Parrott, CEO of DVide Arts commented: “We were amazed at how easy it was to deploy our game to bada using the new integration of ShiVa3D with Airplay SDK – it really is seamless.  We’ve already been able to make Crusade of Destiny available to millions more customers by submitting to the Samsung Apps store, and the Nokia Ovi store should follow shortly.”

Airplay SDK is a multi-platform development solution for iOS, Android, bada, Symbian, Palm webOS, and Windows Mobile amongst others. The ability to plug in directly to ShiVa3D means developers can now take advantage of ShiVa3D’s engine and editor to create content-rich, compelling games and apps across mobile and desktop platforms.
