The game we have been waiting for is currently being developed by the original studio behind the franchises first title in the series F.EA.R. They being Day 1 Studio’s. After taking back the reins from Monolith. FEAR 3, or F3AR, is promising to be the game we all hoped and prayed that FEAR 2 was going to be, and then fell just short of the mark, but only just mind you. Playing your campaign in FEAR 3 will be a choice of single play, or whether you want to run through it with a friend or loved one as your co-op partner? When we have the opportunity to bring the review we will be able to bring you both options fully run through, so you will get the feel of how the two campaigns differ.
Released on PC, PS3 and Xbox360 formats in 2010 with a precise date yet to be confirmed, Alma returns to form in FEAR 3, in which you will play as one of Alma’s two son’s, be it Paxton Fettel or Point Man, who was originally displayed in F.E.A.R. Whereas Point Man is a genetically enhanced Super Soldier, and we are looking forward to tearing up the place through his eyes. We kind of get the feeling that gamers will be opting for the Paxton Fettel character at selection. Fettel has some awesome kinetic powers and telepathic abilities at his disposal, with which he has managed to ensure life beyond the grave. In turn, couple this with the fantastic news that the legendary movie director John Carpenter, whose movies include hits such as Ghosts of Mars, Village of the Damned,(and who could ever forget the terror of Halloween?) has been drafted in to guarantee that Alma and her boy’s return to the gaming screen is not only action-packed, but one that will have most gamers playing through FEAR 3 with the lights on.
Another fact for the lover’s of the horror side of things to note, is that critically acclaimed comic writer Steve Niles, (30 Days of Night), has also been brought in to give the script of FEAR 3 some bite. So you have Niles co-writing the script with the game’s development team, and then John Carpenter lending his ample expertise to the in-game cinematography. I think that we can safely assume that the developers and publishers are pushing for an all-out blockbuster with FEAR 3, and with the sheer wealth of talent that they have on display and at their disposal,I have a sneaking suspicion that is exactly what they are going to get.
